Slater's 50/50 in Lake Forest California will host it's second annual Backyard Brewfest on Saturday April 5th. This event will host and boast the best that local Orange and San Diego Counties craft breweries have to offer. I chatted with BeerMonger Mark at the Slater's 50/50 Excesstasy event and he could not have been more enthusiastic about this years Backyard Brewfest promising it will be bigger and better than last years event.
Valiant Brewing Company, recently celebrated their first anniversary so they decided to do things a little differently from most anniversary beer events. Instead of having a big beer festival with several different breweries. Valiant decided to go small and intimate, focusing on producing new beers and the customers that helped them make it this far. Owner and head brewer, Brian Schroepfer was busy brewing and perfecting Valiant's recipes and styles for the anniversary party and created a very quality draft list.
Karl Strauss recently celebrated 25 years of brewing by celebrating the annual Changing of the Barrels. An event that honors the life and reputation of Karl Strauss' beers and the release of their 25th anniversary "Barrel Aged Doppelbock." It was held Saturday, February 8th at the Karl Strauss Brewery and Tasting Room at 5985 Santa Fe Street in the brewery's hometown of San Diego, California.
If you were looking for great craft beers, good people, beautiful cars and a great cause. Look no further than Wick's Brewing's Cops and Cars event held Saturday February 1st. The good people at Wick's in Riverside, California put on this event to raise money for fallen Officer Michael Crain of the Riverside Police Dept and Detective Jeremiah MacKay from the San Bernadino County Sheriffs Dept.
San Francisco Beer Week starts this Friday February 7th and ends February 16th. During those nine days Northern California breweries and the fine establishments that serve said beers will be celebrated with events ranging from tap takeovers, new beer releases, beer dinners and so much more.

Starting this week, Firestone Walker Brewing Company in Paso Robles, CA. Will release their first mixed 12 pack called "The Lions Share." Which will include core beers from the brewery DBA (British Pale Ale), Union Jack (West Coast IPA), Pale 31 (California Pale Ale), and 805 (Blonde).
The second annual OC Brew Ho Ho fell upon a cold and rainy Saturday morning at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim California on December 7th. For those unfamiliar with the Brew Ho Ho, it's the sister event to the OC Brew Ha Ha. Providing craft beer fans with live music, shopping, and exceptional craft beer from local and out of town breweries. The weather did not stop attendees from having a holly jolly good time with craft beer.

The Great American Beer Festival is by far the most renowned beer festival and beer judging in the states. A lot of breweries were put on a wait list, and tickets for the beer festival sold out in 45 minutes!
That didn't stop the craft beer masses to enrich their palates for craft beer nirvana. The MASSIVE ammount of breweries in attendance proved that judging all those tasty beers, would not be an easy task. With 84 category's ranging from coffee beer to barley wine to session beer and each category having at least 20 if not more entries.
Deciding Long Beach was going to be the stop for the day, we packed our things and made our way down. The beautiful blue skies of coastal southern California, begged to be taken in. It was a perfect day for craft beer, food and friends. We made stops at Simmzy's Long Beach, Beachwood BBQ & Brewing, and ending with the first annual Promenade Beer and Wine Festival.
It's that time of year again, when we (the craft beer fans of LA/OC.) Are blessed with the craft beer dedicated events in and around the greater Los Angeles area for the fifth incarnation of LA Beer Week. On Saturday September 7th, Orange County beer geeks, beer fans, and beer in general. Descended upon the grounds of Oak Canyon Park, the area surrounding Irvine Lake, in Silverado California. This was my first Brew Ha Ha, and I have always heard amazing things so I had high hopes for this beer fest benefiting the Fallen Firefighters Relief Fund. The Brew Ha Ha also had guest speakers David Walker from Firestone Walker, Greg Koch and Dr Bill Sysak from Stone Brewing.
