Five Reasons You Want to Attend the 2017 California Irish Festivalin BierBuzz News
You may already be thinking about your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. How are you going to celebrate it?
To help get you ready for the festivities, the second annual California Irish Festival will be taking place March 11-12 in downtown Upland. Here are five reasons you will want to attend the California Irish Festival:
1) Irish Bands
At this year’s California Irish Festival, there will be multiple genres of Irish music. Whether it’s an Irish punk band, an Irish rock band, or Irish traditional music, there will be festive Irish music playing for your enjoyment.
Excited about the Irish music playing, but worried that you might miss out on some bagpipes? Have no fear! This year’s event brings onboard not just Upland’s Bagpipe Crew, but also local Upland High School Regiment Boosters pipe band. There will also be other pipers throughout the days.
3) Irish food
Looking for authentic Irish food? There will be over a dozen different food trucks that will all have at least one dish with Irish flair. Pappa's Artisanal Restaurant will be providing authentic Irish dishes, including oak-grilled corned beef, cabbage beef sandwiches, and red ale bangers & mash.
4) Beer gardens
Oh, yes, there will be beer. There will be two huge beer gardens in the middle of the event, with two other beer gardens located near the stage. And, at only $6 a pint, you can’t go wrong. Even better, you can pre-purchase beer tickets now.
5) Come for the vendors
Looking to shop? Whether you’re looking for Irish items or non-Irish-specific items, local vendors will be selling everything from woodworking to jewelry.
Make sure to make it for the opening ceremonies, Saturday, March 11th at 11am. Upland's mayor and local leaders will be there, along with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting.
So mark your calendars, get your favorite green shirt and we’ll see you at the 2017 California Irish Festival.
