Looking to go beer-drinking in Kansas City and wondered about visiting the area’s breweries?

Visit KC, the region’s leading hospitality and tourism organization, is pleased to announce the launch of the Kansas City Tap Tour, a self-guided brewery experience that rewards participants with beer discounts and unique prizes. The KC Tap Tour features 11 area breweries, from newly opened establishments like Big Rip Brewing Co. to longtime favorites such as Boulevard Brewing Company.

Presented by Visit KC and Charlie Hustle, the KC Tap Tour touts the expanding craft beer scene in Kansas City and offers visitors and locals a unique experience that connects many of the different neighborhoods and areas in the metro. Participants can stop by the Visit KC Visitors Center at 1321 Baltimore Avenue to pick up a $5 Guidebook. From there, individuals 21 and older are invited to try beers from as many of the breweries on the KC Tap Tour as they wish—and receive stamps in their Guidebook for each individual visit. Special deals and discounts are also available at each brewery.

Participants who collect five stamps will receive an exclusive Tap Tour bottle opener, while those who earn all 11 stamps receive a limited-edition Charlie Hustle KC Tap Tour T-shirt. Redemption points are located at both the Visit KC Visitors Center and Charlie Hustle’s retail store on the Country Club Plaza. Additionally, those who complete their Guidebook are entered to win the Ultimate Beer Drinker’s Getaway, a giveaway featuring two weekend passes to Boulevardia, a two-night hotel stay, local craft beer merchandise and more. The initial program will run through May 31, 2017, while a second volume will kick off the summer season.

“This program celebrates Kansas City’s craft beer culture, which has exploded in the last decade,” said Traci Moon, Visit KC Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications. “Working with each brewery, we’ve created a way to boost tourism and interest in this ever-growing community, and expect it to be incredibly successful for the city.”

Participating breweries include:

  • Big Rip Brewing Company
  • Border Brewing Company
  • Boulevard Brewing Co.
  • Calibration Brewery
  • Cinder Block Brewing Co.
  • Crane Brewing
  • Double Shift Brewing Company
  • Martin City Brewing Company
  • McCoy’s Public House

Beer is The Answer at Screens 'n' Suds Big Event

When most beer geeks look at their elixir filled glass, one either gazes at or thinks of ways to unmask it. Evaluating and demystifying to find the purpose or wonder of that particular beer. Either the brewer had the intention, the mistake, or the unknown with said brew. Labels can only take us so far into the imagination or process and concoction of said brew. Tonight for the Screens N' Suds 'Big Event' held at The Answer Brewpub, side project of An Mekong of Mekong Restaurant fame. The only answer needed to this question is hand made craft beer.
