With all that’s going on during LA Beer Week, there has be some sour action, right?

Well, you’re in luck, as Phantom Carriage will be hosting a Sour Bash tonight, especially featuring guest beers. The event will be, as they describe it, “a glorious '80s horror-themed night of mouth-puckering action.” While they will be serving their own beers, they will be pouring a lot of guest beers, especially by Cascade Brewing.

Phantom Carriage’s own beers they will be pouring will be Passionfruit/Guava Broadacres (3.8% ABV), a brett/lacto-fermented Berliner weisse, Escape from Carson (6.7% ABV), a "new wave" west coast IPA, and Lugosi (12.8% ABV), a high gravity dark wild ale aged in oak.

Included in the action will be a release of their third collaboration beer with Cascade Brewing. This collaboration beer, Nachtmerrie (2015), is part of their ongoing Cascade Brewing/Phantom Carriage Blend Collab Series and is a barrel-aged mixed fermentation dark sour ale (7% ABV). In addition to this collaboration beer, Cascade Brewing will also be pouring eight beer, most of which are from previous years.

There will also be guest beers from Beachwood Blendery, Bruery Terreux, Casa Agria Specialty Ales, Cellador Ales, Homage Brewing, Los Angeles Ale Works, Monkish Brewing, and The Bruery.

To provide some '80s horror-themed atmosphere, their "Phantom Theatre" will showcase '80s horror movies on VHS (yup... VHS!) while the taproom music playlist digs deep into this analog era with righteous, synth force.

The event begins at 5pm and goes until 10pm. Phantom Carriage is located at 18525 S Main St, Carson, California.

Beer is The Answer at Screens 'n' Suds Big Event

When most beer geeks look at their elixir filled glass, one either gazes at or thinks of ways to unmask it. Evaluating and demystifying to find the purpose or wonder of that particular beer. Either the brewer had the intention, the mistake, or the unknown with said brew. Labels can only take us so far into the imagination or process and concoction of said brew. Tonight for the Screens N' Suds 'Big Event' held at The Answer Brewpub, side project of An Mekong of Mekong Restaurant fame. The only answer needed to this question is hand made craft beer.
