Valiant Brewing Company, recently celebrated their first anniversary so they decided to do things a little differently from most anniversary beer events. Instead of having a big beer festival with several different breweries. Valiant decided to go small and intimate, focusing on producing new beers and the customers that helped them make it this far. Owner and head brewer, Brian Schroepfer was busy brewing and perfecting Valiant's recipes and styles for the anniversary party and created a very quality draft list.

With 26 beers on tap; it's hard to not be impressed with the wide variety and special one off's offered. Valiant provided a few options for guests for trying beers. You could pay as you go with pints/tulips. Do a flight of select beers. Or buy a package that gives you a wristband with several tasters and still have access to small batches and anniversary specials. Added bonus: For a small fee you could get a bottle of their First Anniversary Barleywine to go.

The rain didn't stop everyone from enjoying great beers and food. Unfortunately due to the weather there were no hot rods. The rain did provide a busy but still cozy atmosphere for the brewery's tasting room, with cool breezes blowing through the "L" shaped tasting room. Food from Hopscotch's Chef Cody Storts and TJ's Woodfired Pizza were available for purchase.

I have have always enjoyed the Mounds of Grounds, but I also really liked Alpha Drive and the Barrel Aged Axiom. All of the beers were fantastic and I look forward to what's brewing for the next year from Valiant.

I love traveling, drinking craft beer and writing about it. I strive to provide readers with an inclusive, educational and fun experience about craft beer. I also write @ chasecraftbeer.com

Beer is The Answer at Screens 'n' Suds Big Event

When most beer geeks look at their elixir filled glass, one either gazes at or thinks of ways to unmask it. Evaluating and demystifying to find the purpose or wonder of that particular beer. Either the brewer had the intention, the mistake, or the unknown with said brew. Labels can only take us so far into the imagination or process and concoction of said brew. Tonight for the Screens N' Suds 'Big Event' held at The Answer Brewpub, side project of An Mekong of Mekong Restaurant fame. The only answer needed to this question is hand made craft beer.
