You may enjoy beer, but have you thought about beer flavored-confections? How about beer-flavored lollipops?

With three beer-flavored lollipops, Lollyphile provides some delectable enjoyable in a candy version. Amongst its more than three-dozen flavors of lollipops, its three beer-flavored lollipops are tastily sweet. The three flavors – lager, IPA, and stout – are sweet approximations of beer (since they are candy, after all), although they do not include alcohol.

The lager lollipop is primarily a sweet corny flavor, very much like an American adjunct lager, accompanied by a little bit of a buttered popcorn flavor. I’m not sure that the IPA lollipop I sampled was correctly labeled, since it tasted a lot like the lager lollipop, but it was enjoyable, nonetheless, with a lollipop sweetness leading the way. Hopefully, I was sent an incorrectly-labeled lollipop, since there is an interesting potential for an IPA flavored lollipop.

I greatly enjoyed the stout lollipop, which was quite different than the previous two. The most immediately noticeable flavor difference was the dark, bitter roastiness, of the lollipop, as well as a strong tobacco flavor. There may be stouts that are similar in taste to this lollipop, but it actually reminded me of Zaya Gran Reserva 12-year rum, with its tobacco flavor accompanied by dark sweetness.

The lollipops, themselves have quite a big sphere, which offers a lot of candy, although it can be a bit awkward fitting it into one’s mouth. This candy offering can last quite a while, certainly more than many lollipops, so there’s a fair amount of candy with just one. I did find the positioning of the lollipop in relation to the stick to be somewhat peculiar, as the entirety of the candy is along the stick. This positioning then yields, once sucking has begun, some protrusion of the stick out from the candy while sucking, which is a touch irksome.

In any event, Lollyphile’s beer-flavored lollipops are quite an intriguing, sweet, and tasty set of candy.
