Pairing is Caringin Events
Pizza and Puppies and Beer, oh my! What a better way to spend a sunny California afternoon than to have all these three available to you in unlimited quantities.
I jumped at the idea of attending this awesome event and helping out a great cause.
Taking place last Saturday May 30th, the second annual non-profit fundraiser Pairing is Caring Craft Beer & Gourmet Pizza Pairing Extravaganza (try saying that 3 times fast) hosted by the Inside the Cellar team, is everything you could hope for and more. Although small in size compared to other, much bigger events, the fundraiser featured some pretty tasty brews and pizza that was being devoured in mere seconds of being put down. It was every man for himself when it came to grabbing just one slice of pizza that I compared it to what it would be like if the zombie apocalypse ever came around. With over 8 different pizzas to choose from, each pizza had its own unique flavor and had a suggested beer paired with it to compliment its flavors.
With 7 participating breweries in attendance and unlimited pours, you could easily find a little bit of everything, from Stouts to IPAs and everything in between. Me being a sucker for coffee flavored beers, stuck quite a bit around King Harbor Brewing’s Abel Brown Ale. But the real hidden gem of this event was the bottle share hidden off in the corner, available only to those who purchase a VIP ticket. Not only does VIP buy you an extra half hour (and then some) to the event, but you get to partake in the amazing bottle share that they include for you brought to you all by the people over at Inside the Cellar. With over 40 different beers to taste from, your inner beer geek will be super happy and most likely stay stationed there for the rest of the evening, much like I did.
Lets also not forget the puppies and the reason for this awesome fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA, which helps with the animal’s food, shelter, and care. While I was getting my grub and drink on, I had the pleasure of meeting Stealer, Umi, and Dylan, three of the most lovable and playful dogs I’ve ever met. It was good to hear that 2 of them had been already adopted and the other had a good foster home.
