La Verne's only brewery.

This small new brewery operates a seven barrel brewhouse, providing six different craft beers on tap including a Pineapple-flavored Blonde, a wit-like wheat beer, and a very good Pale Ale. See their permanent collection as well as what is currently on tap at their website.
I look for some great things from them in the future. Plans call for Firkin Fridays and extended hours.
There is a good sandwich shop within a short walking distance.

Look
Golden straw at High Noon. Clear. Thick, spongy head with sporadic lacing that lingers on the glass.
Smell
A light sugary sweetness with a faint smell of walnut shells. Piney and perfumy, with some slightly floral notes.
Taste
Sweetness as the beer hit the tongue, with Stones signature bitterness on the finish.
Feel
Tingly and crisp on the first sip with the feel of a medium body arriving as it rolls down the tongue.
Drinkability
It's a very drinkable beer and the bitterness grows on me as I drink it. My only issue is the lingering piney taste, which is my number one issue with Stone beers. I think it's a good example of both West Coast IPA's and Stone, but there are way better California IPA's to be enjoyed. Worth trying.

Feel
Crisp light carbonated refreshing feel with a light to medium mouthfeel towards the end. Wet, fades.
Drinkability
A perfect beer to have on a hot summer day to get out of the sun, almost a lawn mower beer but be careful for over 5% alcohol gotta make sure you watch where your pointing that thing! It has an overall good balanced crisp drink ability for a summer wheat ale. Definitely will drink again.

Look
A rich creamy honeycomb look with a very hazy appearance. Heavy long lasting lacing clinging strongly to the glass. Large head off of the first pour
Smell
A heavy citrusy aroma filling the nostrils with the sweetness of a summer ale
Taste
A taste commenting the smell bringing in all the light summer flavors desired in a summer ale.
Feel
A light to mid mouth feel refreshing the pallet with the tangy crispness towards the end of the sip.
Drinkability
This is quite a refreshing drink and good pick up for a summer BBQ. Almost a lawn mower beer but with it being over 5% you need to make sure you be careful where you're going.

I've had a few, but I know what I'm talking about.
Look
Golden like dehydrated urine. Clear with a white head about 2 dimes thick.
Smell
Malty crisp and refreshening. Would be great in the summer time. Floral and a hint of spicy. Nice combo of hops and grains.
Taste
Very balanced beer, but when going for smell after a sip its more on the sweet side. Reminds me of corn. NO off flavors or anything weird. Light bodied and does not coat the mouth. Went strait down the hatch and was very clean. The very minute bitterness becomes awakened when I breathe through my mouth.
Feel
Crisp and smooth. Had it ice cold so it helped and made it very easy to drink. Not much carbonation and fades quickly.
Drinkability
I loved the beer as it was very refreshening. I was actually eating fish tacos and it cut right through the deep fried fish. Nice and not heavy so you can pretty much eat anything with this beer.

Hangar 24 Orange Wheat

Review

Serving Type
Bottle
Lush Factor
Just getting started
Look
A light lemon color with hints of green around the edges.
Through a clear glass, the beer is cloudy, almost like a thick lemonade.
When poured, a large, white head first appears but with little retention. Little to no lacing.
Smell
An aroma of citrus fruits (orange and lemon) exists. A hint of yeast on the nose.
The bouquet gives off hints of citrus fruits, with a slight tartness and sourness.
A very slight smell of yeast can be picked up.
Taste
There is a strong citrus taste that is a great combination of lemon and orange. A slight tartness exists from the fruit. The bitterness from the lemon can be felt on the back of the tongue, with sweet orange in the front.
There is still a hint of yeast that is quickly overtaken by the citrus.
Feel
This beer is very light on the mouth and smooth going down. Carbonation disappears quickly with the thick, dissipating head.
An aftertaste of sweet orange immediately follows the tartness to finish off the beer, and the drinker is left with the feeling of having just consumed a fresh orange.
Carbonation disappears quickly after pouring from the bottle. Leaves the beer slightly flat but removes the disturbances of burbs.
Drinkability
This was an enjoyable beer all around. The citrus taste and light body make this the perfect beer for a hot summer day while working outside or just sitting in the sun.

Smell
Very Piney, with a slight hint of alcohol.
Taste
Bitter with a very hoppy taste. For it's potency, very little alcohol is tasted.
Feel
Light carbonation, very crisp, with a strong kick, but the taste subsides quicker than one would expect.
Drinkability
Very crisp, with a taste that takes some getting used to, but will remain a favorite for years to come.

White Rascal from Yardhouse in Brea

Review

Serving Type

Lush Factor
Just getting started
Look
Color Extremely light golden honey hue. It sometimes appeared white in the light, cancelling out its slight honey tint.

Clarity Extremely clear. No bubbles to cloud up the clarity. Had a filtered, watery look.

Head One finger head. Not very large or thick. The bubbles were tiny dots. Retention was lacking.
Smell
Aroma Slight smell of grains and malt. Had a more powerful banana smell. Very light on the nose and sweet, no sour/biting smells.

Bouquet Had a floral smell. Natural and citrus-like. Not overly sweet.

Off Odors No off odors. Smelt like a witbier should. Clean, crisp, refreshing, and slightly watery smell.
Taste
Balance & Flavors Sweet and refreshing. No bitterness and easily a guzzler-beer. Contrasted well with red-meat meal, cleansing the mouth and washing the meal down.

Off Flavors No off flavors. It tasted accurately sour, not causing any puckering.

Mouth-Feel/Body Medium-bodied beer. It was sweet, but didn’t feel overly full/filling and sugary. It went down well and left the mouth feeling washed out and ready for more.

Tail No real aftertaste. Banana flavoring lingered for a long time. Gave the beer a long lasting taste and ready for more.

Feel
Consistency Crisp and very smooth. Was as refreshing as a glass of water.

Carbonation Light on carbonation. The carbonation kept it very light and fizzy. Wasn’t too airy and filling but felt lacking in the filling feeling.

Body Light body with a delicate flavor.

Finish Faded quickly but left the mouth feeling refreshed and ready for the next sip.
Drinkability
This beer had a great impression. Wanted to keep drinking it, not feeling too filling or bitter. It had a great slight banana flavor that gave it both a creamy and refreshing flavor. The beer was hydrating but also contrasted well with heavy peppered meals.

Carta Blanca Review

Review

Serving Type
Bottle
Lush Factor
Just getting started
Look
The color is a light golden color, nice honey blonde shine to it with a thick foam head.
Smell
It is a bit hoppy, kind sweet, earthy and a hint of citrus
Taste
There a hints of sweetness of fresh corn, and contrasted by the after taste of slight bitterness with a touch of spice.
Feel
This is a light-bodied pale lager, American style.
It is a very complex taste that is balanced and silky smooth taste, the carbonation is a bit fizzy with a creamy sensation finish that leaves an after taste of soft crisp bitterness.
Drinkability
I think this is a great beer and perfect for summer, I would pair it with raw oyster splashed with lime and a hint of salt.

Review

Serving Type
Bottle
Lush Factor
Just getting started
Look
Color: Dark honey; amber red
Clarity: clear
Head: short lasting; lacing is okay
Smell
Some roasted malt and caramel; very little hop scent
There might have been some flaws in the beer because it smelled like wet cardboard.
Taste
The malt flavor does not linger and finishes with a bland flavor.
Feel
It has a light body with light carbonation, but it feels crisp. It finishes averagely and kind of dry.
Drinkability
It was crisp, but lacking a lot of flavor. I would have to drink this on tap if I wanted to enjoy it again. It was lacking balance, but it might have been due to a flaw when handling the beer.

Smell
A light and clean smell--not hoppy or earthy, it's more of a refreshing and malted smell.
Taste
Absolutely wonderful! It's not hoppy at all, which makes it better to me--very balanced and enjoyable.
Feel
Indeed, this beer is smooth with a slight spritzyness that rounds it out to be not too dark, not too light, and in fact just right.
Drinkability
It is one of the most drinkable beers I've ever had. by far a favorite, and smooth yet a bit of effervescence that chimes in to make a great mouth feel.

Refreshing Peroni

Review

Serving Type
Bottle
Lush Factor
Just getting started
Look
Very light golden color and clear. Very short lasting head, slightly fizzy, and no lacing.
Smell
Very prominent corn aroma with hints of wheat and grass. Some floral and citrus notes
Taste
Slight bread notes mixed with a light caramel taste. Tastes very watered down with a nice subtle aftertaste at the end.
Feel
Very crisp and smooth beer on the mouth. Spritzy carbonation almost like a soda. Body is light to medium and the finish fades quite quickly.
Drinkability
Although it may seem like a very bland beer at first, the mouth-feel you get at the end really makes it refreshing and enjoyable to drink. Would be awesome to drink on a hot summer day!
